Cowboy Mounted Shooting Event Coming to Tunica!
Action-Packed Event Free to the Public

TUNICA, MISSISSIPPI (April 9, 2007)—Cowboy Mounted Shooters will gather at the Tunica Arena
and Expo Center to compete for awards at the CMSA Jeffers National Championship, April 18 - 22, 2007.

Saturday Night, April 21st, is the highlight of the competition when the public is treated to a special two hour Showcase, where the "Best of the Best" complete in the Colt Eliminator and Taylor Arms Rifle. Free to the Public, the Saturday Night Showcase spotlights the most exciting equestrian cowboy action sport in America today. 

You can see the heart and spirit that keeps the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association growing on 8:00 AM Sunday morning where the public and competitors enjoy together CMSA's Cowboy Church Concert with World and National Champions Randy & Heidi Gunn, as they perform live with the GunnPoint Band. Sunday is CMSA's special FAMILY time where the public is encourage to intermingle, ask questions, and take pictures with the competitors in special autograph areas.

Cowboy Mounted Shooting is a fast paced sport that combines the thrills and challenges of full speed horseback barrel racing with precision Action Shooting. Mounted competitors dressed in authentic pre-1900 cowboy gear, engage in as many as fifty different courses of fire with two single action revolvers, loaded with safe blank ammo. They shoot at balloon targets while on the clock!  Contestants from across the US compete together with authentic old time cowboy costumes, six guns a blazin' and champion horses competing for big prizes and the title of CMSA Jeffers National Champion Cowboy and Cowgirl.

The Tunica Arena and Expo Center is located on Highway 61 in Tunica 10 minutes south of the casino resort area.  Located in the heart of Tunica, “The South’s Casino Capital,” the Arena is owned and managed by Tunica County, Mississippi, and operated by the Tunica County Arena & Exposition Center, Inc., a Mississippi not-for-profit corporation.
