TUNICA WINS CVB OF THE YEAR
Statewide Award Presented by MTA President Anne Coggins

TUNICA, MISSISSIPPI (April 9, 2007)—The Mississippi Tourism Association presented their annual awards for tourism achievement, and the Tunica CVB took home the top honor of CVB of the Year.  The Governor’s Conference on Tourism, which is the annual statewide tourism conference, was held at the MSU Riley Center for Performing Arts in Meridian, Miss.

During the Conference, Mississippi Tourism Association President Anne Coggins presented the award to the Tunica CVB, where Coggins is also the Sales Manager.  This is the second year Coggins has served as the President of MTA.  The Tunica CVB received this award because of their advertising, public relations, and marketing campaigns to keep gaming dollars in Mississippi in 2006 while the Mississippi Gulf Coast casinos were rebuilding, their presence at trades shows across the country, and their brand management overseeing all of Tunica County’s attractions. 

The Governor’s Conference award program recognizes outstanding contributions to the advancement of tourism by members of the 450-member private sector organization as well as honoring travel media, community volunteers and governmental friends of the industry. Awards were presented with each focusing on a different aspect of the hospitality industry or individual achievement.
