U.S. Pro Golf Tour Visits Tunica National for $300,000 Mississippi Classic
More Than 150 Touring Professionals set to

Orlando , FL - The U.S. Pro Golf Tour will visit Tunica National Golf & Tennis Club, April 2-8, 2007, for the $300,000 Mississippi Classic, which will pay $40,000 to the winner. This will be the 2 nd stop on the Tour's ten-event schedule. Set in the heart of "The South's Casino Capital," Tunica National is a 7,210-yard, par 72 championship layout designed by renowned PGA TOUR Player and architect Mark McCumber. With more than 150 touring professional golfers and Tour staff calling the Tunica area home for the better part of a week, the economic impact for the region will be substantial. Among the players in the $300,000 Mississippi Classic field is Stuart Deane. The native Australian earned national and international fame by winning the Trump Million Dollar Invitational this past May. Deane won $1 Million in the high-stakes shootout, which featured all U.S. Pro Golf Tour players. The Major Championship of the USPGT was staged at Donald Trump's course on Canouan Island in the Grenadines . Also entered are Gibby Gilbert III and Lee Williams. Gilbert III, son of Champions Tour veteran Gibby Gilbert, earned more than $250,000 on the USPGT in 2006, winning the season-ending Tour Championship and $180,000. Williams, the USPGT money-leader heading into the Tour Championship, played in the 2006 U.S. Open at Winged Foot, finishing 40 th and an astounding 2 nd overall in putting.
The $300,000 Mississippi Classic features a Pro-Am, parties, hospitality, stadium seating and a junior clinic. There's also a clinic by Dr. Travis Fox of "Beat The Bogey Man," and entertainment by Ron Garland, founder of the "Golf Nut Society," which boasts thousands of members, including former NBA superstar Michael Jordan. Dr. Fox is renowned Psychologist and Clinical Hypno-therapist, and is the creator of the patent-pending process used in programs such as his "Beat The Bogey Man" series that teaches "HyPerformance Relaxtion" techniques for the golf course. Dr. Fox is the official "Head" doctor of the U.S. Pro Golf Tour, and currently works with several USPGT members on the mental aspects of their games.
